It'snot okay...you are worth it! Restoration is just a little update.
The images on your wall, in that frame on the piano, or on the nightstand, tell a story of you. Just like the business man or woman that gets their image updated, we may need to update those framed pieces. Your grandfather may have fought in the war and came home a hero. Perhaps he is just a great guy and therefore, a hero to you. Even better to have his image restored. You don't have a cool old photo of some family man? What about that freshman photo of you from 1970 that has started to change colors? These are all candidates for a touch-up. A simple fix is often all it takes to restore the honor to the image.
I don't recommend removing braces or fixing the hair in the original. The person I was at 20 has his place as does the person at 50. We can fix torn and missing pieces but you need to come in first. Bring the original for a consultation, the amount of fix requested, number of new prints wanted, and you can have the new you or granddad up in no time.
What about that new photo? The one your spouse took of your graduating senior last week? Everyone is proud but perhaps you are blinking in the one picture your son or daughter is smiling. Or the tiny flash in your cell phone could not light up the group. Or the stop sign seems to pop out of your mom's head. No worries, bring them in for the same reason. We are all worth great images that tell a great story. This is a memory that only happens on significant occasions. Don't let the torn or faded print hide your memories.
